09/18/2008 - Coach Randy Holland wins MVP Award

Over the years, serious baseball and softball players have come to recognize the importance of year round conditioning.  No longer do players report to spring training to get ready for the season, rather they are expected to be ready to go the very first day.  Maintaining top physical conditioning to maximize performance must become a mind-set for the serious athlete.  Every player is looking for that little advantange and a specific conditioing program can be the one thing that takes the athlete to the "next level".

Randy Holland worked 18 years in the Toronto Blue Jays organization as an athletic trainer and conditioning coordinator.  During that time, he worked with some of the top major league players in the game today.  Currently he works with several professional baseball players as well as college, high school and middle school players.

Learning how to condition for baseball is different than training for other sports due to the demands of the sport. Not only is general conditioning important but a focus must be placed on the throwing shoulder and elbow as well as addressing the need for a strong core due to the rotational nature of the sport.

Call our office today at 727-797-9090 and make an appointment.  Randy will set up a personalized conditioning program individually tailored to meet the needs of each player.  3-4 sessions lasting 60-90 minutes will be scheduled.  All exercises will be demonstrated and reviewed with the athlete. A complete conditioning manual will be reviewed and given to the athlete on the last visit. The manual will include sections on the principles of strength and conditioning, nutritional information, strength training exercises  to include the body and core, sports specific exercises, shoulder and elbow exercises, and stretching.

Athletes may also book individual training sessions. These sessions will usually last 60-90 minutes.  Call our office to set up an individual appointment.
